Yesterday while watching TV, there was a commercial about a skin product that will help you to bronze up your skin. That is the product will bronze up or tanned up your skin. It is not a surprise to me for the reason this “mat saleh” or “orang putih” as we call them in Malaysia love the sun and there is not enough sunlight here.
While watching this advertisement I remembered of a similar commercial on TV in Malaysia, about a skin product that will help you to whitening up your skin. I can’t remember the exact advert; maybe it was Fair Lady or Fair & Lovely or Dove or whatever it is. That is you will have a fairer or whiter skin.
The question to ponder…. is why?
The "mat saleh" want to be dark, we want to be "white".
Can’t we just accept our skin as it is? Can’t we be grateful enough as it is?
God has made us well suited for our purposes and environment.
